Dragging
What steps do I need to follow to do the Dragging technique?
DRAGGING
This finish works very well to simulate a moire finish. It is also very effective combined with stripping, graining and decorating.
TOOLS:
Dragging comb
Steel graining comb
Rubber grain combs
Lambswool staining pad
Flogging brush
PAINT:
Latex eggshell basecoat
Latex glaze
GLAZE:
One part paint
One part glazing liquid
One part floetrol or extender
(Mixture may be thinned with water)
TECHNIQUE:
1. Apply basecoat, allow to dry overnight.
2. Mix glaze.
3. Apply glaze using a roller or brush.
4. Lay tool at top and begin your stroke downward.
5. Repeat process always working top to bottom.
HELPFUL HINTS:
* Work in small areas.
* Work quickly to avoid overworking the area.
* Always complete stroke all the way down. Do not stop midway.
