How do I enter my classroom?

WHO CAN ENTER: Any U.S. resident, aged 18 and older, is eligible to nominate a public school kindergarten classroom in need of repainting.

HOW TO ENTER: Write an essay not to exceed 200 words about the following topic: “Why does your kindergarten classroom need a more colorful environment?” Be sure to indicate how the students will benefit, information on the current condition of the classroom, and the overall impact the color makeover will have on your classroom. Essays may be submitted in the form of a short story, script, poem, or any other literary narrative, as long as it does not exceed the word count maximum. Imagination and creativity are encouraged. Send one current color photograph (no larger 4”x6”) of the classroom to be considered. Extra points will be awarded to nominations that include additional photography, children’s artwork, videos and/or CDs to help explain why the classroom deserves a new paint makeover. One kindergarten classroom per school is eligible to win. Send completed Official Entry Form, along with the photograph, essay and any optional materials to: Colorful Classrooms Campaign, ICI Paints, 15885 Sprague Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136. Each entry must be mailed separately and postmarked by April 5, 2006.

Winners will be notified by May 14, 2006.
